Macbeth Athletics, aka Macbeth Footwear, was founded by Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus from the world famous punk band Blink 182. The name Macbeth was chosen in light of Shakespeare's play, Macbeth. After the parting of Blink 182, Tom Delonge took over Macbeth Shoe Company and Atticus clothing and now is the sole promoter for both brands. With the help of friends from famous punk rock bands like Alkaline Trio, Taking Back Sunday, AFI, and Angels and Airwaves, Macbeth became a well supported company by the rock music industry. Unlike other clothing brands, Macbeth shoes and footwear is one of the few brands that directly designed by real musicians. Because of this reason, Macbeth shoes plays a large part in today’s fashion, along with other brands like Tom’s Atticus Clothing and Travis’s Famous Stars and Straps
